1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of BTRtec INC’s (“BTRtec,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) websites, products, and services sold in the United States and Canada. By purchasing, installing, or using our smart door locks, video doorbells, or related products (“Products”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Products or services.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase or use our Products. If you purchase on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.
3. Product Information & Availability
We strive to ensure that product descriptions, pricing, and availability on our website are accurate. However, errors may occur, and we reserve the right to correct them and to cancel or refuse any order prior to shipment.
4. Orders & Payment
We accept major credit cards, Shop Pay, Affirm, and PayPal. By submitting an order, you authorize us (or our third-party payment processors) to charge the full purchase price, applicable taxes, shipping fees, and any selected services. All payments are processed securely by third parties; we do not store full payment card details.
5. Shipping & Delivery
Shipping times and carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS) vary by destination. Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery. Please inspect your package promptly upon receipt and notify us of any issues.
6. Returns & Refunds

Uninstalled Products: You may return a Product within 30 days of delivery for a refund if the Product is unused, uninstalled, and in its original packaging.

Installed Products: Installed Products are not eligible for return, including if you later decide to remove or uninstall the Product.

Restocking fees may apply if items are not in resalable condition.

Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

Refunds will be issued to your original payment method once we receive and inspect the returned item.
7. Warranty
We provide a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, starting from the date of original purchase. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use.
This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from misuse, improper installation, accidents, unauthorized modifications, normal wear and tear, or issues caused by firmware or software updates.

On-Site Service Fees
If on-site service is required outside the warranty period or for non-warranty issues, the following service fees apply:

Canada: CAD $200 per visit

United States: USD $150 per visit
Service fees apply regardless of whether the issue is resolved during the visit.
8. Privacy & Data
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy [link to privacy policy]. In particular:

Biometric credentials (fingerprint, vein, facial data) and PIN codes are stored locally on your device using AES-256 encryption and never uploaded to our servers.

Video recordings are stored securely on U.S./Singapore servers, with default retention of 3 days, rolling overwrite, and can be deleted by you at any time.
By using our Products, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Firmware & Software Updates
BTRtec may provide firmware updates, software changes, or remote support interventions. We are not responsible for issues, failures, or damages resulting from such updates or remote actions beyond our direct control.
10. Intellectual Property
All website content, trademarks, and Product software are owned by BTRtec or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without our prior written consent.
11. Resale & Distribution
Our Products are intended for end-user use only unless you have a signed reseller or distributor agreement with BTRtec. Unauthorized resale or redistribution is prohibited.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:

BTRtec shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including property damage or personal injury resulting from misuse, improper installation, or system malfunction.

Our maximum liability is limited to the purchase price of the applicable Product.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold BTRtec harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Products or violation of these Terms.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and any disputes shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, except where local consumer protection laws provide otherwise (e.g., California or Quebec consumers).
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website with a new “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent website notice.
